Polite but Firm Suggestions

It seems a bit pretentious to start listing policies when I’ve had but twelve people visit the blog but may as well get it out of the way to prevent hard feelings later.

Comments –  Comments are very welcome. However, it is my blog and I reserve the right to moderate. I won’t delete comments just because I don’t agree with them or they aren’t flattering. I took 4 years of classical voice lessons and have a very good idea of my abilities. However, if you are rude or abusive to other commenters, if you try getting off-topic discussions going on my blog, if you are needlessly profane, or generally trying to disrupt what I’m doing here then off you go. I reserve the right to disemvowel (if that’s possible) but will probably not want to hassle with it.

Creative Commons License – The audio mp3 files are licensed as Creative Commons (CC). There are various types of CC but I decided to license mine with the following attributes:

Attribution – If you perform the song you have to tell people I wrote it. Legally Glen E Hammer wrote it but in an SCA setting you can attribute to Ciann the Minstrel. (In the SF/filk arena you can attribute it to Scruffy if you like.)

Non-Commercial – You may not use the songs for commercial purposes or include them on media that is to be sold.

Share Alike – You can adapt the songs for other uses. (What an optimist I am.) This means you can include them is videos, remix them, etc. However, if you do use the songs you must (in addition to the attribution rule above) make your work available for others to also remix or transform. And of course, only non-commercial uses are allowed.

More information can be found by clicking on the Creative Commons link below.

Creative Commons License
Some Song by Glen E Hammer is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States License.

The Creative Commons licenses only apply to the audio versions. The text (pdf) versions are under regular copyright. However, I have a fairly broad view of Fair Use and can’t imagine getting very upset for attributed, non-commercial uses. Just email me if you have questions.

I suppose you can also contact me if you would like to use the songs commercially and we can work something out. (yeah, right, that’ll happen)
