Martinmas Moot follow-up

I was able to make it to the crown tourney this weekend though I left fairly early Saturday night as my ankle was hurting. Too much walking I suppose. I was heartened to see so many folks there, I guess the weather is getting more conducive to camping and such.

I was greatly saddened to find out while I was there that an old friend is in the latter stages of prostate cancer. I was very lucky in that I got to talk to him for a few minutes on the phone. I sent him the information for this site, I can only hope it provides some diversion. Gods be with you, Richard.

Tomorrow night I’ll post this week’s song and also a modification of my plans for the A&S 50. Reality has set in at last. =)

  1. Hail from the Barony of Oldenfeld (Tallahassee). My lady and I wanted to give you a hearty thank you for your great entertainment at Martinmas. We enjoyed the several songs you sung in our encampment (my lady gave you a bottle of her homebrewed Porter). We were dying in our chairs when you sang the Feast Song. Can you please please please let us know where we can find the lyrics, and/or get a recording of it so that we may learn to sing it? Of course if it’s copyrighted, we will be happy to pass along the credit of who wrote it, etc. We want to again express our appreciation for what you do, when you do it at Trimarian (and Oldenfeld) events. If there is anything you ever need at an event, and we are there (or you’re in Oldenfeld) please do not hesitate to let us know.

Lord Umble the Mumbler and Lady Athelyna of Oldenfeld. Oh and if you have a favorite libation, please let us know what it is, and we’ll make sure we have it next time we see you.

    • I do indeed remember the two of you, your camp and most especially the porter. I also recall your amusement and that you were pestering your lady so much while I sang The Feast Song that I thought she was going to punch you. =)

The Feast Song is available on the CD “Human History” by Ken Theriot. It, and many other fine CDs, (and now digital downloads!) are available at Raven Boy Music. He has also posted the lyrics to the songs on the CD there.
