SCA Event – Meridies
I went to an SCA event this weekend in Meridies. For some reason I find myself much more willing to drive to other kingdoms for events than attend events in Trimaris. Too bad gas is going up again.
Anyway I had a good time. I did the things I used to do at events in Artemisia; wander around the Field and the Hall singing for people, go table to table at feast to entertain (I hope I was entertaining anyway,) and even just sit in the corner and sing. Now that last might not sound horribly exciting but it was fun because I haven’t been playing my guitar as much these last few years. I find it enjoyable to just provide a little background music, sing some things I don’t do very often, and entertain folks in a low-stress, low-key way.
I also find it gratifying that people talk to me about their upcoming events, even in Meridies which has its own organization of wandering performers. I usually can’t promise anything but I give them a card and say, “Drop me a line.”
Not a Bard 
You and your singing are two of the biggest reasons I got into the SCA so I certainly appreciate the fact that you’re wandering around and singing again… even if I wasn’t there to hear it.
